MY DREAM HOUSE…

ahhhhhhh…i can see it now…

a medium-large one story contemporary environmentally friendly 5 bedroom, 3 bath with a 4 car garage, & a large functional basement (you know not one of those old dark danky ones with scary furnaces, but one that is divided into a couple of rooms like an office, gym & possibly a private locked, room for just me & bobby (wink, wink…)

anyway, our house will sit on 3-5 acres but not be too far from the city, because we have to be close to not only schools, but therapists, specialists & a hospital.  (& also i still need to be able to go the the mall or get chinese take-out if i want!)

we will have a large vegetable garden in the summer, chickens for eggs, maybe a goat? (i dont know why i want a goat but i think they’re cute plus i heard they are good at keeping your yard trimmed, & lets face it, neither me or bobby want to be out there mowing all that yard!) anyway, we could have our own windmill for power, along with a house built to be more efficient in cooling/heating itself.  we could have solar roof or at least a green roof.  maybe those solar windows will be affordable then, or that solar paint i saw on tv.  the waste-water from the house would water indoor & outdoor plants.  we could have fruit trees… & definately a pool, maybe even a hot tub.

of course the whole house would be wheelchair accessible, & i dont mean wheelchair accessible like how most places are “wheelchair accessible” today, even though when you go in they have chairs & tables so close together you cant even turn a wheelchair around, or fit through inside doors & hallways.  i mean like actually accessible & easy to maneuver.

tre would have his own room, with his own bathroom.  it would be specifically designed to stimulate him in every way possible.  brightly colored walls, with mirrors in places like above his bed, & down low to the floor where he could see them when he was playing.  he could have carpet on part of the room but on the other part the floor would be padded & the walls too.  so if he’s rolling around he wont hurt himself.  his bathroom would have low mirrors so that he could see himself from his wheelchair or his bathchair.  the shower would be designed so that his bathchair could roll in & out of it, but also be open on the top so that someone else can use a sprayer to bath him.

erins room would be, well however she wanted, but i imagine a canopy bed the sheer fabric streaming off of it, just like you would imagine a princess room, she’d have a vainity with a mirror where she could sit & put on her makeup. a big closet & a window with a window seat.

there would be a guest room & the bathroom would be shared by erin.

my kitchen would be big & open, with lots of cabinets, but ones that arent too high, because lets face it i am so tired of never being able to reach the top shelf, or even the back of the middle shelf!! (i am so short!!) i’d have a big refrigerator that i could fit big platters in for parties.  one of those flat top stoves & two ovens so that i can bake everything i need to for a party all at the same time.  a big sink that is deep so the water isnt constantly splattering.

a laundry room that has enough room to hang all the stuff i dont dry in the dryer, & a sink to wash out all the yucky stuff that i dont want to wash out in my kitchen or bathroom sinks. a big washer & dryer.

my bedroom would be, well relaxing.  a king sized bed with awesome sheets & nice fluffy pillows.  a flat-screen tv.  one of those single person lay down chairs (i dont know what they’re called but they are like the perfect napping chairs) nice candles everywhere.  a big bay window that looks out over my back yard.  a big bathroom that has a jacuzzi tub big enough to fit me & bobby at the same time (not that we ever have time for a bath but just in case we do) a two person shower with those big shower heads, one in the top middle & one on each side & with a corner seat so that i can shave easily.  his & her sinks & a walk in closet that is his & hers & opens on both sides so you go in on your own side.

it’s not finished, but we’re off to a great start!!
