Our New President Barack Obama!!
I would just like to start out with CONGRATULATIONS! TO OUR NEW PRESIDENT ELECT BARACK OBAMA!!!
I will say that this is just the third time i have been able to vote in a presidential election but it is the first time i have been truly happy with whom I casted my vote. Not all will agree in fact I am sure that there are a lot of people whom probably are reading this & did not cast their vote for Barack Obama. & I have kinda steered clear of blogging on this particular subject because I am truly not sure how to approach it. But there is definately something that I want to say. Which is that I completely understand if you do not agree with Obama’s politics. That is your right & is understandable. However, if you are like my mother & did not cast your vote for Obama because you think he is some anti-american muslim then I would have to say shame on you! If you don’t agree with his politics that’s one thing but if you honestly believe that he is some radical muslim whom is trying to take over america from the inside out then SHAME, SHAME!! At least do your homework!! He is NOT muslim people!!! Even if he went to a muslim school, he should only be considered cultured. Not to mention the fact that few muslims are radicals that want to harm americans or anyone. & if you don’t know that then you are a sad victim of todays propaganda, which tries to portray all muslims in the same light. If you are christian I totally understand that however I do not understand the disrespect that some have for any other religion than their own.
But it is really sad to me that people but especially my mother should be so racist. Even though she says she’s not she is. Her latest line is great, “I don’t have a problem with them (African Americans) it’s them who seem to have a problem with me.” “Look at those one’s in Oklahoma suing the state for reparations for the riots, why should we have to pay them, so they can sit around & not work?!” To which my response (in my head because i cannot even get into that argument with her is) that first of all, of course you have a problem with them!! you can’t come in contact with a black person without somehow commenting on something that they did & how it is related to them being black!! (& it’s not just black people, because racism is color blind you know, it’s hispanics, muslims, canadians & even asians! that’s right i said asians, & yes i realize that i am asian & my mom is racist against me, even though she will say she is not) & besides why shouldn’t they get reparations, i mean they were wronged in a severe way & if we pay out to indians for their misfortunes & things we did to them then why shouldn’t we pay out to african american???????!!!!!! & for her to say that “america isn’t even going to be america anymore” i can’t even express my anger & sadness in this. I mean really people/mom how is Obama any different than I??? I am not white & I cannot even run for presidency because I was not born in America but if I could would I be some “sleeper cell” trying to take over America from the inside out? I mean really how is it different? Obama was mostly raised by his white american grandparents, yes he spent time in Indonesia, but so did I!!!!
I just hope that at the end of his presidency that people can say wow, I was really wrong about him, he was a truly honest & great president who has made history & helped bring America through rough times. But will those kind of people ever be able to say anything good about him? I just wish people like my mother would at least come out & say they are racist, I mean really it would be much easier for me if she would just admit to what she is rather than hide behind some sort of visad. I mean really she can’t even come into contact with someone without somehow commenting on their race. But now that I think about it it’s not just race I mean if they are “white” then it’s always something too, like they are “slow” or something….it’s just so annoying!!
ANYWAY!! sorry I got off on my rant but I did want to say that I completely support Obama & am truly happy that he won. I agree with his politics but it is also a great & historic moment for americans. & yes I did say that I agree with his politics, & YES I AM A CHRISTIAN!! & I am not sorry that I support him. You may say that it isn’t right because “innocent blood is at stake” & yes I am referring to abortions, but what I have to say about that is that one, even if abortions were illegal they would still happen. & two that just because I personally do not believe in abortions it is not my place to tell ANYONE else what they can & cannot do with their bodies. It is not my right to put into place laws that are based on my religious or moral affiliation. & call it socialism if you want but I don’t believe that higher taxes for the rich is socialist. I mean really people they are still going to have plenty of money!! It’s not like you are taking everything everyone makes & putting it into a community pot, I mean please, they are still wealthy!! & at the end of the day hungry children get fed, & housed & educated. yes I understand that there are those who find ways to live off the system & take advantage but what I don’t think that a lot of people understand is that MOST people that get any kind of public assistance WORK!! oh yea, that’s right people they work!! they work 40hours a week & a lot work more & guess what they still don’t make enough to pay rent & keep the lights on & feed their kids, so guess what they are humbled into asking for help, so that they can keep a roof over their kids heads & food in their bellies.
so anyway this has become a huge rant of my opinion about politics & probably a lot of people may not like it, & maybe even a lot of people will feel uncomfortable talking to me after reading this, but guess what people??? I AM STILL THE SAME KARA YOU KNOW!! that’s right, I am still that girl next door who does everything she can to take care of her kids the best way she knows how. I am still the girl who will be there for you anytime you need me. I am still that girl who can make you laugh at some unexpected time. I am still that girl who you knew in high school, or you worked with. I am still the same.
CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR PRESIDENT ELECT BARACK OBAMA!!
